Ready to Read Phonics Plus books support the explicit teaching of phonics-based word recognition knowledge and skills. Children learn to crack the written code of how letters relate to sounds, alongside learning some high-utility words and kupu Māori and developing language comprehension.
Ready to Read Colour Wheel books support guided reading with small groups. They are designed so that children build their comprehension strategies as they respond to text and think critically, alongside reinforcing and continuing to develop their word recognition skills.
Ready to Read texts/storybooks can be accessed and downloaded as PDFs on this webpage. Many texts also include Teacher Support Materials and audio files.
